To celebrate the centenary of Terence Rattigan's birth, Thea Sharrock directs Anne-Marie Duff in his final play. Based on the true story of Alma Rattenbury, Cause Celebre is a tale of love, betrayal, loyalty and obsession.
Terence Rattigan is one of England's greatest playwrights. His many plays include After the Dance, Flare Path, The Winslow Boy, The Browning Version, The Deep Blue Sea,Man And Boy and Cause Celebre.
Anne-Marie Duff won an Evening Standard Theatre Award, a South Bank Show Award and The Critics' Circle Award for Saint Joan (National). Her recent TV and film work includes Shameless (Channel 4), Elizabeth -The Virgin Queen, Nowhere Boy and Margot.
Thea Sharrock's recent directorial credits include the acclaimed production of Rattigan's After the Dance (National), The Misanthrope (Comedy), As You Like It (Globe) and Equus (Gielgud & Broadway).
